Yup I was looking at a total outlay over 3 years for the bog standard bike of over £11000 and then a huge balloon after that. It was at this point I was walking out the showroom and thinking I would just get a gsxr -r as a lot cheaper. When they suggested I should look for an old shape model. This I did and found a 2018 unregistered SP which on the same terms over 3 years would cost £6350. It was an easy decision. I think some chunky discounting will start towards the end of 2020 as it is very expensive and a just a little too focused for most of us. Too cramped, too peaky, too track orientated to live with for the road. Though like most on here I will be just a tad jealous when I do see one on the road
The motor will likely spin up really easy with its friction reduction technologies and use of titanium internals - another level from what most of us have experienced before. I noticed that with my R1, just how easily the motor spins up, with its lightweight flywheel and titanium internals it picks up revs effortlessly it seems. Amazing thing.
