I have a quick action throttle fitted to my 06 Blade . Active quick Action throttle . Brought it from Calsport , works very well on the road . Comes with 3 diffrent throttle tubes and new throttle cables. I never liked the standard throttle . Its a great mod ! Works ok in traffic .

Are the active ones better than the hrc kit I've been looking at?

The standard Honda throttle tube is 1/4 turn, that's 90 deg & really long. You can buy the HRC throttle tube for around £25; it fits the existing housing & cables. You will need to take all the slack out at the throttle body end. This tube will give you 1/6 turn. This is just a comfort mod & changes nothing with regard performance. Your brain to throttle hand connection takes about 10 seconds to recalibrate. Job done.

Nice one thanx mate, does the tube fit ok in the housing then? No trimming of plastic from the inside? Sounds a nicer/cheaper option than getting the whole lot.

You can run just the tube, the housing for the OEM tube is wider to accommodate the wider OEM tube, however you can as you say fit the narrow HRC tube/cam to the wide OEM housing, the cable ends on the OEM cables are wider than the HRC cable ends you can't run the HRC housing with OEM cables unless you file the ends, the HRC cables are designed for the kit as without them there is little play in the system, I've fitted just the tubes before and have had to remove the top nuts as the bike over revs on full lock as no free play, others have been ok but best is 0mm free play, you should have around 2mm, also with clip-ons (renthal etc) the OEM cables and HRC tube they are too short and run the risk of revving on full lock over rev on full lock is an MOT failure and can be dangerous. Hope that helps :)

So if standard is quarter turn 1/8th turn will be a decent difference? Which kit would that be?

So you'd recommend the HRC kit over the others then Art?
