no one needs one, there just very coooooooool, and we all try to be coooooooooool!!!!
I've used 2 types, the HM plus and for the last 2 years on my R6 2003 I've had the dynojet QS, The HM is by far the better one, but the dynojet one was on the bike and worked fine, even the gearbox looked like new after 4 yrs of having the QS on it….
I've just bought another HM plus ( would have loved the GP version, but just can't justify the price when I still need other mods on the trackbike )

But than again, you dont need to shift to reach 70 Mph :) :)

Does that hmss shifter works just the same with an hrc Ecu? It sounds mighty cool if I read the topics here :D

Yes mate, any ECU as it's totally stand alone... and yeah I was kidding about 70mph etc..

The HMSS trims the kill times so it only cuts the ignition for as long as it takes to engage the next gear, so if you set 60ms and it takes 40 to engage the gear it saves you 20ms, it does this REAL time!, does not sound like much but over race distance could be 2 full seconds, so saves time and gives super slick gear changes.

Note: the HMSS (HM seamless shift) is one of many features of the GP shifter.

As an electronics engineer (education) and a track addict, I cannot be anything but interested in this :) thanks for the info. Trying to free up 2014 budget (or if someone wants a kidney, I got a spare one .. :D ).

On topic: I want one for the tech itself, it would make (club) racing a little less complicated and money in the bank doesn't pay off at this moment :D .. Gaining seconds on lap time will come from rider education though (for the most part).

my HM QS + arrived today, something to do during these cold days. Ive been reading all these comments and I cant wait to try it out.

A friend has a Triumph QS on his 675, he's always complaining how it doesn't shift up and another friend has a Tuono with QS fitted as standard, he says he sometimes has problems shifting when at high revs.
Would anyone know if these HM's have similar problems ?

No they don't :) as long as you setup ok (which is easy) I can honestly say I have never had any issues with the HM plus

Did with translogic and HM PC which was connected to PCV on the cb1000r and cut fueling instead of the spark and it was hit and miss sometimes

I have a Translogic shifter fitted to my 07 blade to help with my gear changes as I have difficulty using the clutch, and I have had no problems at all.
