God everyone that says they will never ride on the road on this forum. There will no one on the road at all at this rate! Either the roads must be god awful where you live! Oh well more space for me and my HM quickshfter!
A quick shifter does attract me even for the road, very few of us use a bike on the track and if we do its a couple of times a year. I use my bike on the road as working in a city centre means its the best mode of transport bar non. I fancy a quickshifter for the ' traffic light gp '...... would it suit this sort of bad behaviour.
Quick shifter for me when the funds allow. I compared mine non q/shifter RAA against two similar bikes. An 04 blade with quick shifter, pipe and K+N and I had to work hard to keep with him.The other blade was on a 06 which I will have to say I went passed him without trying too hard.So yes they do make a BIG difference.
I have to agree with arthurbikemad's comments on a QS, if you aint tried it.....................................don't knock it
Be rude not to "Fourth" What Arthur said...he fitted mine, more as a bit of a whim really,BUT now I wouldn't be without it! Road or track they are just great fun.
I love quickshifters.! I raced for 13 years and when getting/building new bikes it was the first thing on the list. Excellent for short shifting while banked over as it doesn't upset the bikes handing. Superb in a straight line! Off the start line from 1st to second i always clutched it as it was always a bit 'crunchy' but from 2nd onwards kept it nailed. They are lot kinder to the engine as they create less enersia ( probably spelt wrong)
Nice! I think in all the years I've been riding its the one thing that's changed the way I ride... So little has changed on bikes in the last umpteen years but full throttle clutchless shifts is the one thing that's re written the rules...
Great topic, As some of you know i ride an 06 firebade with a dead left leg and i've met many riders that say a QS would help my ride if this ends up being so i live in kent so who would come recomended to get and fit it for me?
How about this for you mate.... Speedycom*Performance*Ltd... Push button shifter with the HM would give you full throttle push button up shifts, if you had a blipper you could have push button down shifts too.....lol oh and a nice sigma slipper and your done...lol Now if I were a rich man...lol
