Yep, that should make it a bit fairer if will pull two plugs out! I'm only geared for 120 and its maxed out! I haven't got any higher gearing so I'll get blitzed on them runways! Lol.
Not long now but if you were thinking of going to this event I'd get a shift on as Novice both days and Inters Sunday are nearly full. Email Paul Tye at address below if you fancy it. £60 either day or £100 whole weekend. [email protected]
Hire van loaded up with track bike plus kit etc. looking forward to 2 days on track , just shame we may have to wait for Sunday afternoon for bone dry / scorching tarmac again Think me, mentalist (Andy) and Restone (Rich) are only ones from here attending - GoPro charged and ready for action!
You forgot about little old me, however I won't be riding due to accident but will be there to say hello and to see what I missed :-(
Was a good weekend - but think my track riding days are over - ankle injury from 18 months ago is not happy, can't shift gear as rapidly as needed nor climb about over bike Still had a great laugh with Andy and Rich - missed the other Rich who popped in, have loads of video and a few pics but don't think anything stunning Now shattered and have hire van to return tomorrow before work, thankfully it no longer smells of petrol after I washed the floor over tonight.
Glad you had an OK time and sorry I missed you, we had to escape back home before they locked the gates at 9am.
Had a good weekend and was great to meet up with peeps from here and elsewhere. Saturday was a head messer as had changed to race shift but had had no time on the bike due to a persistant oil leak (now sorted), every time I strung together a few decent laps my brain just went to auto pilot and I messed up the gears causing a few 'emotional' moments .....still was worth a go. Sunday was not feeling completely on it as me and Al had had a few beers on sat. Unfortunately the event was spoilt for me by several idiots who were riding like arseholes.....I had witnessed a fair fiew incidents already dangerous overtaking of unpredcitable slow riders not giving enough room etc and bullying them out of the way (and off the track) .When a classic honda 500 that I was gaining on the final sraight put his arm out in loads of time to indicate 2 corners early that he was pulling into the paddock, I put hand out ease off and get cut up badly both sides by said idiots and narrowly avoid a pile up, marshals go nuts and have stern words. I sit out the next session while considering moving group, only to find that more of there mates are in the next group and witness them cause 4 bikes to come off luckily no one hurt and just one bike smashed up....one of the perpetrators. Was a real shame as I decided fuck it I'm not smashing up my lovely blade for these ass holes. It was also a shame as the beauty of this event is the relaxed way its marshaled making it usually very good fun. You live and lern best to be overtaken by fast safe riders while running at the back of a fast group than mixing it up with daft want to be's
Couldn't agree more ... Fantastic two days and very enjoyable on the whole. Working across on the search and rescue helicopters at Valley I know have very difficult and frustrating organising such style events are at military bases. But to have a select few idiots acting like arseholes will close these events down in a heart beat !! Trying the inters for the first time, I thought I would tag on at the back and when the fast boys go it leaves you the whole track to yourself, however I experienced numerous times very poor judgement and dangerous overtaking manoeuvres but luckily I managed to take evasive action to prevent one or both of us kissing the Tarmac !! Some clown on a yellow super moto style bike undertaking me on the last fast right hander after the chicane but hand to go onto the edge of the grass and bounced over the taxi edge lights causing himself to go wide right in front of me .... braking whilst lent over is not ideal !! Another chimp on a yellow sports bike goes round the outside of me on the left hander before the long straight to the chicane very close and then tightens up his line which brings him right I front of me giving me nowhere to go ...... Why??? Sit behind me for the corner or keep your bloody distance and then you can power past me on the long straight as I'm only on a R6 --- solution? Ban bloody yellow bikes !!
The yellow peril should have been asked to leave in my opinion, he really caused problems as method of operation so to cut people up through corners. He was not riding to novice standards - I might suggest novice is changed to a road bike only group. With the runway being resurfaced next year there is a chance the September event may be the final one.
