They are a bit lumpy, price wise for the the odd angry shot.

We don't, officially, sell cameras any more but have maintained our account with Nikon. Not Canon though, I'm afraid. Not much of a loss though. They were buggers to deal with.

We're virtually all large format inkjet kit now, but still do wet processing stuff for those of that inclination.

It's a cracking camera Tony. Some say it does some stuff better than the D300s does.

    Is it your first DSLR?

Yea my first dslr ken, always wanted one just used the point and shoot type in the past, must admit its a bit daunting at first with all the settings you have at your disposal, but I've been reading up on ken Rockwells site and last month went on a night photography shoot with a well known local pro and we got some cracking shots around Newcastle, tyne bridge etc. showed us how to do light trails and loved that:) think I've found another addictive hobby :)

Ken Rockwell eh. A bit of a fruitcake isn't he, but he does write a good amusing article. There's too much 'emperors new clothes' in this business so it's good to be a bit left field now and again.

Anyway, you're going to love the SLR Tony. You'll start to find a smoothness and a subtlety in your images that would not have been there with a compact camera. Don't let the settings options get to you. Turn them all off and shoot manual exposures. It's like the 'Blade and traction control. It would get between you and the feedback.

just keep experimenting, but only with 1 thing at a time or you'll never work out or remember what you did. had my D80 for several years now and only know about 1/3 of things it does. I was initially only looking at capturing action shots from the TT example so spent my time muching around with the appropriate settings.

Have the same camera, brilliant bit of kit, just getting used to it myself. What lens/lenses have you got?

Excellent. I know they're unliked but they make me laugh. And that's no mean feat.
