The acuity is fantastic for a G series. Once upon a time they were regarded as the runts of the litter, but the focus on these shots are phenomenal.
When I got the camera a few years back when the D80 was new I thought it wouldn't be long before I moved away from the kit lens and upgraded but so far I haven't felt the need to. I'm more than happy with the quality the current lens can achieve, but the temptation for even better does creep in every now and again.
