Looks like Honda found a shed full of SP2's as the US count went from "only 43" to 55 that have been accounted for so far.

As for black flag noises, I thumb my nose at noise regs LOL

To give my bike a bit more kick in the pants and have it behave as originally intended, I have remapped to the ETV tables to the Euro/UK spec - bike has a new personality. With the US maps the bike did not even carry full throttle past 10,000rpm.

US Power Mode 1 Gears 1 - 6 ETV maps

Yep, it's been a while. I have followed much of this on the 'other' forum. Will be keen to read how it performs against say, a standard SP2.;)

Must feel very rewarding having completed it. Question is: 'Is a bike EVER completed?':)

Well, you are right about it never being completed.

We all know that Honda very unceremoniously sacked Ten Kate last year 2 + decades of dedicated support, research and development by Ten Kate into fielding as good a race bike as possible.

One thing lead to another and when Ten Kate put the Redbull bikes up for sale, they offered me one - but I was not able to take them up on that offer - so I did the next best thing, snatch up one of their full blooded WSBK motors in Qatar race spec.

Remember though, it is how that HP is transferred to the road/track that is the key criteria!;)

I think this power plant is sufficiently developed and tuned and with all that torque available from such low rpms, it will be a case of pick a gear, any gear and then hold on tight :)

My custom tuned HRC ECU is represented by the red line.
Blue line is with Magneti Marelli in charge of the fire and fuel management.

Bloody hell, John. That's an attractive deal, or so it seems on the surface. 3 year deal? If so, it seems there'd be a massive payout at the end if you'd want to keep it, BUT, with that payment of only £7630 (assuming 3 year deal) why would you keep it?

Hope you enjoy the machine. I am biased:

The final payment is £11869!!!!!!!!! i sell cars for a living and this is my 4th PCP bike deal. I had a GSXR750 and 2 BMW S1000R Sport models one on a 64 plate the other on a 17 plate but when i saw the best part of £4250 off the bike PLUS 0% and imho a crazy GFV/Final payment it made more sense to upgrade my bike rather than service it! There is NO way in my opinion the bike will fetch anywhere near the final payment but if!?? it does or more than the final paymnet then happy days but i will probably just back it to Honda finance and let them deal with it!

John, there's a couple of new ones on line now, one at Craig's Honda for £15,999.

Unless people start smashing them and writing them off, we'll be lucky to see 12K in 3 years!!:(:(

The beauty of a PCP, affordable payments for an awesome machine but when the market falls away you can just hand it back and move on!

Looking at purchasing a, SP2 if I do a deal next week works out with my bike as deposit £80 pm for 3 years at 0%, which includes paying off my existing pcp deal, it is without doubt the best deal going, with the savings a few extras could be added.

Looked at the new R1M poor deal, S1000rr but cant get one until next year plus a few issues with them by the sound of it also poor deal, Gixxer buildbase also 0% but trade in value considerably less, ZX10RR again poor deal as the same goes for the RSV41100
