Ages ago my MIL bought me an Apple TV, which was a stylish doorstop as far as I was concerned. Until the high speed broadband went in, that is. You know that cruise through YouTube that starts with 'this looks interesting' and then becomes a 'other videos you may be interested in' frenzy? Well it's a lot more comfy doing that laid out on the sofa, watching it on a 42" plasma.
If you pair your tablet or smartphone with the Apple TV you can actually browse the videos on the mobile device and then opt to watch them on the telly. Makes browsing a lot easier.
If you've got a smart tv you should be able to log into Netflix from there, Jimbo. Obviously it means watching it at home instead of on the move.
bollox! thats what i thought.... found an app which says you can view later and is netflix compatible, fcuked if i know how it works though!!! lol mainly wanted it for ipad on train.
I've got the whole lot on my PC, Jimbo. If you had an Android tablet I could send them to you on a hard drive and then you could've dragged and dropped them onto your tablet. Not sure you can do that with an iPad 'cos you have to work through iTunes.
I'm sure there'll be a way to do it if you google it. If you can and you can send me a Hard Drive I'll put them on and send it back.
If your wanting to take movies on the train with your ipad you can grab a program called VLC for iOS https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/vlc-for-ios/id650377962?mt=8 Basically you plug your iPad into your laptop open itunes, go to apps scroll to the bottom you will see a folder called VLC then drag and drop any video/movie file into the folder Sync and you good to go
You'll need VLC like Andy says as, from memory, all the season 3, 4 and 5 files that I've got are .mkv files and an iPad won't play those unless you've got VLC installed. How do I play .mkv format movies on my iPad? - Telegraph
Just started watching The Following first shown on Sky Atlantic, but now on DVD. Looking good so far.
It's a great show. Watched it from the start and season 2 has just started on Sky and is even more tense than season 1!
Avplayerhd is better than VLC player on the iPad as I had mkv files VLC player wouldn't play but does on this
I did feel the last one had about 40 minutes of script in a 150 minute movie. Mind boggling visuals, mind. Except for that absolutely horrible English girl.
If anyone likes fast and loud/Gas monkey then watch Extreme Car Hoarders on Discovery. bloody enjoyed it
