you dont really need to hide it as it has no display so they wont bother about it tbh, plus as it's so small they wouldn't even notice it

I do like the look of the aim solo one but if I'm going to struggle (hiding) using it there is no point, I'll give the qstars a go. It will do what I need it to do :)

I've never had a drama using my PZ Racing lap timer and it sits just inside my fairings (not exactly hidden) and loads of other guys have their timers on their tanks/yolks/etc. I've personally never seen (or know) anyone get pulled up for having the GPS type; just seen the beam type have the beam box taken off the pit walls.

And what are they supposed to do for guys who have them hard wired into their bikes? Such as HM Dashes...

OK so I got the qstars 1000ex but I can't figure out how to use it, has anyone else got one they can help me out?
I've tried it in my car out on the roads but it records everything in segments and some even say they were made in 01/01/1601 and 10/04/2066, so I have been time traveling some how.

I tried in the qtravel thinking this may help but I travel to places thousands of miles away like Somalia and back in 15 seconds

Am I doing something wrong or do I have a faulty unit?

Yeah got the latest version of software, maybe I need to do circles around the block rather than trying in a straight line?

I'm still having no joy getting this to work, I done four laps around the block and when I get back and read log I get a straight little white line with no data, I've reset the unit, got latest software

    May be faulty unit?

What colour is the led/symbol on the unit when you switch it on?
Have you updated the AGPS using the software? This should help get a faster satellite fix.

I've updated all my machines since the last time I used it and so I don't have the software installed, but will stick it on my laptop to see if I can help.

the orange LED comes on then it beeps twice and the LED flashes orange, updated AGPS

i have an outline of the lap which is a step forward, adding start/finish beacon does not work, i noticed a slight break in the line so added a start and a finish either side of the gap and now have the info speeds, time, gforce etc and can press play and watch.
really the only problem now would be setting the beacons in the right place :)

i guess my unit must be faulty?

Sounds like it could be the unit. Have you tried resetting the unit via the software?
