    A rather delightful phrase used around here to highlight the subtle intricacies of the Potteries (North Staffordshire) dialect:

    "Coss thay kick a bo agenst a wo un 'ed it 'til it's bost?"

    Translation: "Can you kick a ball against a wall and then head it back until it bursts?"

    And every question around here ends with the word "duck". As in "Ayup duck? How 'at?" (Hello there - how are you?) and "Woss want duck?" (what would you like?)

    That regional enough for ya!? (duck) :D

    So what does hooker mean then? Is it someone from Galway?

    see they keep their main ships for the good fishing trips and the hookers for the short use an abuse trips.
    bit like wives and ladies of the night I suppose.
