I wish your friend a full and quick recovery.... sounds like he had a lot of good people around him and the first aid courses are a great idea for all riders..... I ride those roads a lot but mostly alone.... it does make you think....
Same as all the previous posts Al, wish your friend best wishes from us. Thankfully he's still with us. My son had a very similar incident last December, he's still travelling the road of recovery.
