Sounds like you fell foul of a little known fact that the last 700 metres before a peage the speed limit is 70kph (43mph). The fine is normally 45€. It's a myth that they can check you between peage's as the clocks aren't calibrated. What they normally do is set up a speed gun about a mile out and nab you at the peage, so slow down as you approach the peage
Interesting about the clocks on the peages. This has never really been an issue for me before on V-Stroms or XT660's and the like, but now all this is applicable with the Fireblade, and has mostly been a bit of a worry !! edit typo
