Not at all. She's got a weeks worth of washing and ironing to do and it would be unfair of me to get in her way while she's doing it.

I might give her a treat later and put the suitcases back in the loft.

    Once she's finished emptying them...

It doesn't take much effort to make a gesture Michael. And I know she'll appreciate it cos frankly, she's knackered.

Thanks Jimbo. Good to be back.

I'm not going to do a holiday thread as it's not really bike related and was mainly about me visiting some old Nazi haunts from the good old days, but, there were some interesting bike moments.

To start with, there is a serious shit load of big, quick, expensive bikes on Jersey and with a maximum speed limit of 40 mph and a serious police presence, both kosher and, frighteningly, a civvy dressed hobby bobby contingent, I was struggling to work out.........why?

Okay, the answer's obvious. It's because they can. But I struggle to see the enjoyment in it beyond the trophy thing, and although most were kitted out nicely, many of them were squids. If I lived there I would definitely have a bike to get around, but it would be a 250, tops, and probably a trail bike of some sort.

Yes I did see a FireBlade, but only one. I saw it twice, both times on the move so I didn't get the chance to try recruiting him. A Red 05 it was.

Anyway, it was good to finally catch up with Giv'

And I did see two bikes I've never seen before. One here for Dan.....

Hungarian, it was. From 1957, the antique dealer, yes, thats right, antique dealer, wanted £3200 for it and it was apparently in running order.

Then I saw this and spent three day hunting it down so I could photograph it. I never new they existed. I knew orange Rizla's did, but I never knew orange Rizla Suzuki's did.

And it was drop dead gorgeous.

Yep, I was sat in a restaurant on the first night when it rumbled by and I did a double take. Then my mate saw it go by the same place a couple of days later and confirmed it was definitely an orange Rizla. Then this morning I hunted around where we saw it an sure enough, there it was. It is mint too. I've got a shot from the other side I'll sort later but it was a tighter angle cos of the car in front.

There were loads of superbikes though, and the island is so small, you could almost hear them from the other side of it and as I said the regular police force is referred to as the "paid police" and supplementing them is a very large specials contingent who don't seem to wear any noticeable distinguishing uniform, so the word Akrapovics is pronounced "nick me" there.

Nothing like Penang then, A few years ago we had a trip over to see some of Ling’s relatives. One of her cousins took us out for a “drink” shit me I have never seen anything like it. We got taken into a private drinking den/disco that included young and old, very very fit Asian and Chinese women, clearly waded men of all ages. And get this people openly taking soft and hard drugs (fcuk me they legally kill you for that in Malaysia) I said to L’s cousin, “I don’t expect to make old bones but we have to get the hell out of here”, don’t worry he said “that man over there is second in command of the police” “Oh well that’s ok then is it” is what I said. Long night and story cut short, we got stopped by the traffic police on the way back to our hotel as the sun came up. L’s cousin who was driving was totally and utterly pissed on brandy and beer, so bad he fell on his arse when he got out of the car. Spoke to the police, got back in and said “its ok”, I have to meet them later for coffee and give them some money and it’s all good” then carried on driving us back to our hotel. We meet the next evening and I asked what had happened and he said nothing much, we meet, had coffee; I paid them, that’s that, sorted. That’s how we do things.

You're right, nothing like it. Yesterday morning we walked 4 miles from St Aubins to St Helier along the sea front. About half way there we stopped for an ice cream and two BIB's on big BMW's lit up and pulled a black Volvo estate right in front of us. The lead rider gets off walks up to the driver of the car and starts giving him a loud bollicking for what I do not know, but it was very animated with lots of arm gestures. So while nonchalantly rimming my 99 I sidled a bit closer and noticed the two geezers in the car's uniforms and flouro jackets. I nearly dropped me flake.

    Hard core or what!

Someone’s gotta pay for the tax less system I guess but still a bit hard core man.....thank god I live in numpty land where incest and fatherly buggery is the norm. But not in this house I might add. Having said all that when the girls have stopped comparing your dick to their brothers and their dads the six fingered wanks are not quite good

Cheers Villan. It's good to be home. Trying to catch up with all the bike racing I missed. It's exhausting!

I'm off to Corfu in September if that helps.

I will be holding off a bit though as it might be cheaper to buy Corfu and have it shipped to my back garden by then.
