Not long got back from a visit to Nutty's, instructed her to remove her carbon fibre chainguard, so that I could measure the angle between chain and swingarm brace. It's 28 degrees!!! Thanked her profusely, still didn't get a brew and arrived home 10 minutes ago. Will search for some nice alluminium extrusions or just angle and post some pix when there's summat to look at.

Right chaps, bit of an update. Just got off the phone with ColinBR, our newest member. We agreed that these things would be much nicer CNCd out of billet alluminium with a couple of stainless or Ti flat, domed bolts to hold em together. Colin will make a prototype and then after fine tuning the programme do a run for us. He can also get anodising done. So, just add your name to this list if interested?

Now most of us have 08 to 12 swing arms so are guards for all models going to be made or will it just be the 1 prototype first?

Sorry Dan, it's a new list for ColinBR to gauge interest. We need measurements from all years ideally. Basically 1/ Angle of brace from horizontal 2/ width of brace 3. Distance from outside of brace to inside of chain, nearest to wheel.
People, just copy n paste list and add your name , year of Blade and ideally measurements???

    Hi guys

I'm sure by now u know I can make these custom chain guards. Thanks Alan.
Dan there shouldn't b any need to take measurements as u already know I've got the same bike as u. Basically what I'm going to do is take the measurements from my bike, make a set n try it out on my bike first before adding the finished design and adding the finishing touches. First thing I'll do though is see which material I have n take it from there.

    Should b good. :)

Awesome mate .. Yeah if it looks good on yours then i know for deffinate it will on mine .. My chain guard is of at the moment as it looks so much better but a stubby guard just covering the rear sprocket like the Rizoma 1 would be a lovely touch and a forum exclusive ....Nice !!

Oh ur really testing the water now Alan :)

Only kidding. I can get that done anaw just takes more time. I can either get them lazer etched on or I can engrave it in while machining them.

Dan trust me I don't put shite on my bike it'll be mutts nuts.

No probs Alan. Nice to talk to someone who is as keen and genuine as yourself. I'll keep you's posted of the progress. Only thing is once I get an idea on the go I'm hooked. Think it's a little bit of OCD :)
So long as I can get into a machine it really shouldn't take me that long to get them finished.
    Happy days
