10.55 Group 5, bike 8. Perfect day for it, wasn't it? I didn't realise they had so many go through in one day. 9 groups of 18-20 each, plus the learner types and the Elite 'Bladers. Not a bad little money spinner for Rocket Ron!
It was a great day for it! There was another group after me, so 10 groups, got held up in the second session due to am elite high siding and needing medical attention. This was my third time there on the premier course each time my scoring has improved, i had Chris Burgess as my instructor and he was saying i was quicker than him from Redgate through to the Dunlop straight. I ended up with 97.5% losing 2.5% on exit from corners, but i am happy with that! My dad got 87.5% which i thought was really good for his first time on a track! Will be going back for the elites! Definitely!
Hi All Did the premier group today and can say it's well worth the money. First time on a track and finished with a score of 87.5% not bad for an old un. Gonna book myself in for the elite class next. Cheers Stu

Forgot to mention I had a great time there last week got my kneedown at Coppice and at Goddards was well happy with the day as a whole it was well organised and Donny is a wicked track! The amount of speed you carry through Craner is just mental I was loving every minute of it. Even had Dan Linfoot as my instructor who was such a nice bloke and taught me how to be really fast on the bike so much so that by the 3rd session he pulled the pin and couldn't shake me he was massively impressed we had so much fun that we accidentally dropped the bloke who I was paired with by some way and had to slow down in order for him to catch up. Westie was also there he's is going to be an instructor there shortly so definitely well worth the money IMO. Great day out and great people not everyday you get taught by BSB riders!
Sounds like a fantastic day Nick and will have to do this next year, just hope i don't get paired with someone that is to slow, that would put me off a little...
Don't worry buddy after the first session if you feel the person you're with is too slow you can ask to be moved or for them to be moved. Although I am doing the Elite next time which is effectively open pit lane on a fireblade. 3.5-4 hours unlimited laps and one on one instruction including data and onboard footage from your bike for you to take away and study. Really worth doing but you have to have done an premier first.
Well looks like I must be the only one who didn't come away from Donnington buzzing. Still it was my very first time on track and only came away with a 75% but did not have a good time at all! Should have gone down with a group of folks rather than on my tod! Oulton Park next on a No Limits Track Day so I'll keep an open mind.
Here you go guy's this was my personal experience of the Ron Haslam Race School - If you can't laugh at yourself who can you laugh at? “What do you mean, you’ve done race training?”
Best track day that I've done, seems expensive but when you add up what you get, its great value for for money, and you get instruction
I thoroughly enjoyed my time, was getting quicker and quicker as the day progressed, managed a 2.00 lap with a theoretical best lap of 1.58 if there wasn't any traffic I'm thinking of booking up again for August to get my times down to the mid 1.50's. kept getting confused with gear selections, but when it clicked the laps just flew by, and at the slower corners I was holding back not to overtake the instructor The telemetry was ace, a great way to see throttle/brake/gear selections for corners.... I just need to open the taps fully instead of being at 75% on the faster corners... Craner Curves and Goddards are amazing, along with the little bump on the Dunlop straight... but where's the bridge gone? sorry for the crappy IG picture, my photobucket is playing up
I've been on school 4 times now. 1 Premier at Silverstone (1st time on track) 2 Premier at Donington and an Elite at Donny in May. I enjoyed the Premier courses but left somewhat frustrated as I would have liked more tracktime, it's almost worth booking 2 premiers - 1 in the morning and 1 in the afternoon. Elites on the other hand were perfect as the tracktime is much more intense and tailored specifically to you. It was also my first introduction to the 1000rr and I loved it so much I picked one up two weeks ago! Whilst it's certainly not a sales course it helped Honda sell me a blade and next time I change tyres I'll be certain to look at the T30's. Will be asking the wife for gift vouchers again this year for birthday and Xmas. Target next year is a 1.55 lap.
5 of us leaving Aberdeen this morning for our 450 mile trek to Haslam's.. my back's going to be sore tonight
Well we did it. The trip wasn't as glamorous as some of the fancy trips to the continent some of the guys have been luck enough to do this year, but around 900 mile round trip from Aberdeen down to the Haslam school went well. A few photo's of the trip (and the many fuel stops): Brilliant few days, would recommend the school to anyone.. in fact I can't wait to do it again before having a go at the Elite school. Didn't manage to get my knee down like some of the boys, but didn't matter as I lapped them all a few times (Danny was pissed off haha) so it just shows you can still be fast without getting your knee down. PS - a very big thanks to Frosty on the forum for lending me his L brackets for the luggage (Ventura were out of stock). Shows what brilliant forum this is
Thats my track pic, Had a great trip with the lads and yes Gilesy did pass me but the instructor had slowed me down as I nearly tucked the front the lap earlier Got both knees down though!!
