Why does the clutch lever click? I've adjusted it to virtually no play, and it still clicks?? As long as it's not detrimental, then i'm not arsed.
Not sure there just seems to be a lot of slack built into it so if it's adjusted the same as most other bikes the first part of the lever pull doesnt do much sonadjusting all the slack out of it compensates for it
it aint the microswitch its like a click but you can feel it in the lever i dont like it tbh and thought there was a problem until i read this thread! Also if i adjust it so no free play or even with 20mm free play which is what it should have then the lever feels miles away Its a strange on cos when just sat there running or not when you pull the lever it feels mint its just when changing gears?? it cant be the lever or cable its not possible i say its the slipper clutch!!!!
It's caused by the slipper clutch. A Dutch man explained to me exactly why it does it, but I didn't fully understand I'm afraid. Once you realise that, you can make it click on request. Change down with the clutch partially engaged and/or some throttle and you should feel it. You can minimise the feeling by always fully engaging the clutch whilst changing gear, assuming you're not doing clutchless down shifts of course
It's lighter, simpler and more adjustable? I preferred the feeling of the hyd clutch on my 06 too though.
Mine clicks a little so will try adjusting the slack out and see if that improves it but its not overly loose at the moment and with in the recommended 10 - 20 mm of free play the service manual suggests.
