Honda are aware of the challenges they face hence the new approach with the way they conducted their focus group? I'm far from a BMW hater given that my current and previous 6 cars are bmws, however until their RR suits my needs I,m more than happy with my Blade and I,m looking forward to the 2015 bike given my tiny involvement And let's not forget this forum is a blade appreciation group No offence to BMW owners was intended, I'm too nice for that
i think the problem is,if someone starts a thread with 90 minutes experience of something,he/you must expect people to defend thier choice of bike, especially when they have much much much much much much more experience of them.i'm no blade hater,i,ove them, but i've made a change after 6/7 yrs,and there's a a big difference it each manufactor's approach,it's upto you to decide which route you want to go down, but i know ultimatley i will be quicker on the beemer. but i also have a 1990 yamaha fzr 400 hybrid in my garage which i also love, when i'm not crashing it.100+bhp out of a 400 chassis'd 600 is fucking awesome, and even puts a few bmw owners to shame
End of the day guys we all know it's the rider that makes the difference barring top end racers. That's even if it's performance that you get the most enjoyment from. Personally I just like getting out there. Enjoy your bikes whatever you ride.
I'd like an 1199SL if anyone wins the lotto! Thanks in advance (can't have one anyway they're all sold ) I guess out of spite you could buy me a S1000RR, I'd get use to it.
Well just to add my tuppence worth I've had a RR7 then a speed triple and now the BMW HP4 and I can confirm I'm just as slow on all of them
Over the years I have worked out no matter how much power or what bike you have physics will only allow you to go so fast....lol
Anyway one way to finish this.......forget owning BMs...R1s zx10s...and pammigirlies...........this forum takes some beating....and that we should all be in agreement with !!!!!!!!!!! Come on Barney lets go over to the other side and slate the blades............. no bugger speaks over there....!!
Think I will be out numbered at Silverstone with all the blades and just me on the BMW Scooby might need backup you coming
It all depends on what you want out of a bike. I like my Blade because it's an all round 'Good Egg' and has the drive of a top end Merc or BMW Diesel car so ACE for road riding and touring. I like me Kwak cause it's mental and on track riding is all about thrill seeking. Those that have followed the Performance Bikes monthly thrash around Mallory Park on the latest performance bikes by BSB and TT rider Micheal Rutter might just have noticed that despite riding the latest versions of the SP Blade, ZX10R, Triumph 675R, 899 Panigale and the KTM RC8R etc the only Bike that he thinks is as close to a race bike and that he'd spend his own money on in a flash is the Aprilia RSV4 APRC, and this wasn't even the factory version! Yes not the best road bike but if Track Day thrills is ya thing then the Aprilia seems to tick all the box's!
Every one I know who has ridden the prilla says its jaw droppingly good. I wasn't overly impressed with the bm (1st gen) on the road but they are a weapon on track and newer ones very much improved. I understand. Still think the blade is the Swiss Army knife of bikes and nothing comes close to being as good as it at so many things. But it's an ageing bike now IMHO Get guys defending their purchases but hardly a surprise folk defend the blade on here lol..... Either way, as I've said before, it's your bike, your choice, who gives a flying fuck.... Just get out there and enjoy it! Took Dave v 929 out today and had a blast.... Didn't see any hp4's or panigale's giving us a lesson in how to ride?
