Ok Lyn, put me down for a set 'cos I won't have got the pegs off by then anyway. Alloy is ok. Still trying to build the man cave. Difficult trying to lay a concrete base when the jcb is sinking in the mud!! If its a case of machining them slightly differently for abs I'll try and thrash up a drawing for Darren in the future. Then you can get rings and abs.

I have messaged @Cbrjay to see if we can get some dimensions.
You can see the thickness of the material and the offset required to avoid the ABS kit in the website below.

    http://www.satoracing.com/cbr1000rr09_ABS_streethooks.htm

Darren is confident he can modify the original design to incorporate the offset whilst still allowing the tie down loop to be incorporated.
If you want to be the guinea pig @Dartmoor Dave he will sort a set after Christmas at a discounted price of £40 as if it works out ok they will be around £65 a pair due to the number of machining operations. (Even sato charge $85 for the non abs and $135 for the abs ones due to the extra work involved!!!!! There will be quite a waste of material too whereas the standard ones could be made from flat stock with minimal waste). All he will need is a little feedback as to where improvements could be made or if things need tweaking to fit.

He may be interested in manufacturing Dogs Bollocks type ones too for anyone interested.

I can do that. I understand where Darren's coming from. I have a lathe and mill at work, maybe I can work something out? Worst case I'll sell them on later at the same price. I just thought it was worth a go for the forums sake.

By the way, Intobikes are the UK importer of Sato Racing. If you google Sato's home site and UK distributors its the same address.

I would be in for some the same as the Sato ones where it bolts to the subframe but with a more squared off bottom section with a slot machined in like the Dogs Bollocks

I know where you're coming from. I can go down that road as I have a pal in Florida who can post stuff at a more sensible rate than a lot of the shops. Most of the time I think their overseas postal rates are because they basically can't be bothered.

Got an non abs set from Nice Cycle in the states. Came in 10 days from buying. No silly postage either. Now to see whats different on the abs version for a fit. Need to warm the spanners first. Its a bit cold out.
I'm still interested in exups go with the other set. If he wants to pm me about costs, I'll feed it all back to the forum about the abs fit.

I wondered if the 'Dogs Bollocks' style ones were still a possibility.

As an ABS owner I am interested in why they don't fit so I was happy to be the test pilot. It may be that an engineered adjustment can be made without excess cost. I've had a look at mine prior to getting the spanners out and it looks initially that there is a foul on the abs pipework or bracket on the rhside. I'm looking into it, report asap.

Spoke to Darren earlier, the problem he has is getting time on the machines with the work commitments. He says he is gonna do a couple of pairs next week all being well. Send me a PM with your email addy and I'll pass it on.
The same with getting other designs done, he needs time on the machines.
