Wheel repaired and looks as new , anyone know torque settings for main nut on spindle , calliper mounting bolts and the 2 bolts at bottom of each fork leg ? @sps170373 ?
I'm putting the wheel back in myself after it was sent away . They had nowhere to store my bike . Put in boot of car and just not long back with it
No probs , if they had put it together I wouldn't want the torque settings . Never took a wheel out before . Honda usually do it
Glad it worked out for you, I remember a good few years ago , I had a gsxr srad 600 and was stuck to get a tyre fitted on a Saturday evening , for a Sunday morning spin , so took it too a auld boy that does car tyres and first off he put the tyre on the wrong way round and when I pointed it out to him he put the wheel back in the bead breaker machine and put the lever right down on my rim taking all the paint off , I was sick and just walked out with it , bike wasn't worth much at the time but I'll never get a tyre fitted by him again , car or bike , There's another local car tyre place I use sometimes and he's very carefully and only puts the lever down to about 5-10 ml above the rim
Not sure on the correct names for all the bits to tighten . 1) calliper mounting bolts (easy one) 2) assuming it's called the main spindle nut 3) small bolts at bottom of each fork leg x2 (not sure on their correct name) ?
Couldn't see that image when I clicked on it with my iPhone . Zooming in is ok can see it . Big thanks @sps170373 Steve
just be careful you don't nip the fork legs make sure the spindle slides in easily' tighten the main spindle nut then bounce the bike on the forks before tightening the spindle clamp bolts as per the picture above. I've worked on bikes where garages have not done this and the forks have locked
