    I agree with Zeepony and will also add that I think lack of grip due to releasing agents etc is a thing of the past.
    AFAIK all you're really doing when you "scrub in" modern tyres is removing the top layer of rubber, which might be a bit dry as the tyre hasn't been fitted to a bike yet. (This is exactly the same thing that happens when you don't ride your bike for a while).
