If your going on time it's oil and filter, if 4000 miles then check over only

Hours labour, oil/filter/sump plug washer I'd price that at £90

But looking at this oil & filter changes are actually only every 12 mths. The 4K mile service is just inspect Brake fluid and Pads and Clutch System

Again being thick. isn't the point if the bike needs a service for warranty or not? When was the the 700 mile service done?

I've been told by my dealer that the bike requires a service including oil+filter change every 12months or 4,000miles whichever is first.

I assume that you've had your 500mile service done when the bike was a few months old and then the 12 month service when the bike was 12 months old and had done 700miles. If this is so, the bike should have its next service when it is 2 years old (24 months).

However if the last service at 700miles was done 12 months ago, then yes the bike does now require a service.

    Hope this helps!!!

Yes the last service was a year ago which was its 1st service at 700 miles. Having only covered a further 1000 miles since is it really worth it. Mainly just to keep its warranty if which there's only 4months left, and how much they want to charge me?

How i read it, 1st service is when you have run it in, 2nd service is 4000 miles or 12 months from when it was registered making it yearly if you havent hit 4k miles.

Did you not get the 1st service done after 500miles after running the bike in?
You should have then had the 2nd service done when the bike was 12 months old and then the 3rd service done when the bike is years old.

That is a mistake, should be around £125 - £150 and Fowlers are usually the cheapest!!

First service done 3 may 2011 at 600 miles, one year on from that hence now, service is due according to Honda which would be 12 months, my 1st service was £99 at Grantham Honda

Honda recommendation for the 2nd service is 12 months from new rather than 12 months after the 1st/run in service.

However if it was done on the 3rd May 2011, I would recommend that you get the 2nd/4000mile service prior to the 3rd May 2012 in order to preserve the remainder of the Honda warranty and also the residual value of the bike.

Then get it done annually at the end of April/start of May.

Even with the bike is not being used/not doing any miles the oil should be changes every 12 months to prevent internal engine moisture from contaminating the oil and damaging your engine internals!!!

That's what I'm going to do, I'd prefer a full Honda history and should anything happen at least the warranty will be covered
