I know you have already checked the list price, trade in value on yours, offset the insurance saving, fuel consumption, service charges and the Aprillia forum... Convinced yourself its a great deal, sellable to the mrs on "safety grounds" and you've calculated you'll still have enough change for the track bike and vw sportline transporter.
Yes mate, I'll meet you at the little chef over on m53 j5? I want to give the bike a ride down the m/way to try the Pcv out make sure there are no issues. Let me know what time.
I've always liked the Aprilias and will have to get one out of my system soon. Always just assumed it would be the RSV but I do like the look of the Tuono, and it does make a lot of sense. Like some of the other guys, I can see myself making a justification for this to the purchasing dept.
The trouble is, the Blade is just so bloody good! I've had my HRC from new 4 years ago, it does everything I could ever wish for, and I still love it to bits. I've ridden it through our shitty winter and it still looks great and starts every time. Christ, I'm shite at this justification lark! Can anyone send me a pre-filled justification for the Tuono?!?
As my mate puts it: Bikes are like women, they're all great and you just want to ride them all! I guess I won't include that in the justification though.
Just seen your response Jimbo. Yes, I'm fully preparing myself for that outcome. I can see her dusting off her DENIED! rubber stamp already.
Jamie is your man - I vet all his submissions and they are usually pretty robust I take the opposite tact, put it in the garage then hope for the best....
Safety. It's always safety. Tell her you've finally grown up, moving away from the sports bike world and getting something more civilised (yeah right, those tuonos are crazy) but she will never know
Dear Mrs Blade1000man, Application for Tuono APRC V4 1. My blade is 4 years old and out of warranty, the new bike comes with a 2 year warranty (please don't understand that the blade is bomb proof, will never let me down, the APRC may but it is shiny and Italian) 2. The bike is actually a safety upgrade coming with more computing power than we needed for the first manned space flight, traction control, wheelie control, launch control and ABS mean I will be much safer than on the blade (I will be no safer because all of these especially the launch control will cause me to test them to the limit to see if they do work… plus it has a quick shifter which sounds best changing up at 9000 rpm) 3. Its more comfy than the blade (probably true… but not by much) 4. Its better on fuel (lie) 5. If I get this you can buy clothes, shoes, holiday etc 6. Its Italian and sexy (if not already mentioned)
