It actually works well Ken, well apart from the first 2 times the 125's just stalled causing no more than a bruised pinky but it has done the trick on the last 8 occasions! They all said Honda's were for old men!!! and one even said my wife was pretty

    :D :D :D

Just worth saying mate, if you sent the gift using a credit card you can get it refunded back onto your card! Your bank will raise a dispute with the bank of the seller, if the seller can't prove that he has sent you the item, hey presto- you get your money refunded. According to some guy on the TDR forum anyway...

I don't think ebay or paypal can help as you dealt off ebay and marked the payment as a gift, so there's no evidence of any sale.

As far as i can see you have only 2 option as paypal wont be interested in protecting a gift payment and there's no credit card funding to pull the funds with.

    1. The police can get the sellers details from ebay, paypal and ISP. If you have emails confirming the transaction (including paypal transaction info) then they can persure for obtaining goods/money through deception.

    2. Buy one of his items on ebay when he lists (you can save him as a favourite seller) and request the user details through ebay, then pay him a visit. Or as mentioned previously contact his existing customers even if they only give a landline number.

see you should have been able to get the money back as there was a scam
of people sending you money as gift via paypal for something then the funds
appear you send off your stuff and they retract the payment.
    I would email them

Hi go to buy something else from him, go to pay but not paypal, cheque or other it will give you an address to send to. I do it all the time, then pay pay pal if happy, as soon as you tell him you know his address, they normally crap themselves and settle immediately.
If not pay him a visit, they don't like it if you appear on their doorstep, especially if its their parents house...
    Regards kenty

Funny really I only warned yourself about sending as a PayPal gift a month or 2 ago and said to cover fees on top and pay as normal for your own security!
    What a tit aye! Lol

Dude I get excited and carried away too! Between me and you and don't tell anyone else on here but I've still grabbed a few bits that way off eBay recently

It is as someone put earlier theft by deception which is a crime and must be investigated by the Police regardless of the arena it happened within. It's all online there as evidence so it's pretty straightforward really.

That may well be the route I have to head down, I still don't understand where the feedback from the winner has gone and why it would have been removed

Can anyone shed light on that?
