I always wear arai lids, got the RX7 GP Colin Edwards rep at the moment and trying to get tge Rabbat rep but cant find it in tgis country. I need to replace it as its now 5 years old. Ive Been told by the Arai rep at Ron Haslam that the RX7-GP is being replaced very soon so I will wait and see what that is like before deciding on my next lid.
Lol I dont care, im proud to be shallow Mods......I think this thread should be renamed Show us Your Lid in Bed in the Buff....far more exciting
My Current Helmet..... Arai RX7 GP Colin Edwards Rep. Here is the Lid i want, but it can't be bought in this Country. Arai have said if i get one imported then they will cover it under the UK warranty via WhyArai so i may get one
The RX7 GP replacement will be in the shops in September /October, so the Arai man at the TT tells me. It's got an all new visor design, easier to operate while riding vents and new shell. I think it's supposed to be called the RX7 V
Yes thats what the Arai Rep told me at Ron Haslam that it will be the RX7-V But the only downside is there are no Race Reps coming out on Release. They will be out after a few Months he reckons.
I'm enjoying mine. I bought it because fit was excellent when compared side-by-side with some other manufacturers, so really it's down to the shape of your head. Other than that it seems quiet enough (although I always wear earplugs in any case), probably helped by the chin curtain and it also comes with Pinlock lense. I'm not a huge fan of the integrated sun visor, but it is useful when using a clear visor. Overall, I'm very pleased with it.
Got this last year...very happy with it, light and reasonably quiet Decided that I'm going to get another in a different colour scheme and use last years as the commute lid.
Serious question why do people buy Arai's ? that visor mechanism is without doubt the most annoying thing ever !! The pods must add to the wind noise ? less aerodynamic surely. The opening is very small compared to other makes and don't get me started on the price !!! Anyway rant over, each to their own etc etc But please Maz think of my broken fingers getting that stupid lever out of the pods and most of all think about 'our' bank balance when you go looking at the NEC this year
I actually like an Arai (no argument from me on cost however they are too pricey. But I like the visor mechanism, nice fast visor change with no tools. The pods being separate mean that they can be replaced if something breaks, unlike my sons AGV that is now useless due to a lug breaking off. Cant say Ive ever felt the opening was too small.....maybe I just like a smaller opening
