Thanx Phantom. I used that gel glue yesterday, also took glued in a thinn plastic peice to support the area around the crack. Not visable and i hope the crack will stay the way it is now.. hardly not visable. If it get worse ill check with Cox Honda or MrB here if they can help out with a good price on the cowl. Or ebay =) Hugh thanx guys. Got to say that im really starting to love this forum.. so much helpful people around here Regards Bass
If I can give my 2 cents...usual superglues like cyanoacrylates are very rigid once dry, thus they don't absorb any vibrations once cured (so that the crack can run again even if repaired with cyanoacrilates); the best thing to "repair" cracks on a fairing is to use some epoxy double component superglues and two shimmers. If the crack has started from a bolt hole in the fairing, best thing is to find 2 little plastic/rubber shimmers the size of the bolt head (they also have to be very thin merely for aestethical purposes) then apply some epoxyglue on the inside of the shimmers and glue them just around the cracked hole. Then tighten with the bolt and nut before the glue dries. (this kinda shimmers are often used on fairing fasteners so that the fastener don't scratch the paint on the fairing, ducati's and mv's have them on their quick detach fateners). hope this helps. Massimo (sorry for poor english)
that gel glue allows flex mine has been glued and still holding since july and I didnt crack mine, I snapped the fairing clean off just below the mirror.
