Just an update thought Id check the ol bike started today...relief as it did!
so after warming it I thought Id check my oil level...slightly miffed tbh, the oil has a slight haze to it.
You know like it may have trace of water in it!! what a complete git...a waste of £45 of oil, so Im assuming Ive gotta drain the oil again then stump up
another £45 on oil and try and fill her again (suppose another filter will be needed too). Good news that she aint broke but my wages can't take a beating any more.
trying to decide if its worth spending £10 on synthetic halfords oil to slosh about and drain again before putting in the good stuff!
wouldn't hurt would it...not talking about riding it just warming it nicely then dumping the halfords stuff.
Just worried that I could waste the Castrol again :(

Can you not get an engine flush that would do the job? I could be wrong so wait for someone that knows their stuff

Persnally Martin, i have never been a fan of engine flush, I think Zippy is better off with his suggestion of running through a can of Halfords oil, then draining again and putting in some Castrol nectar.

The oil that's in the engine at the moment has effectively become your engine flush, that oil should have coated all the surfaces and any remaining water in the engine has started to emulsify in the oil so you should be good just to drain the oil n replace the oil with your normal castrol and new filter without further issues.

Last time I was in Halfords the Castrol Racing 1 was 39.99 and has been as low as 29.99 when it was on special offer.

Ok, so second oil and filter change in as little as 48 hrs (getting expensive now).
she sounds better and runs real nice, still dirty as its now too dark to wash her but Im gonna ride her to work tomorrow and see how we go.

Be warned people, stay out of any deep water as it causes more havoc than you'll ever imagine!
