drone bikes? you think MGP bikes are drone bikes? i say stop living in the dark ages and embrace progress+technology

funny though how people chirp on about wanting pure bikes, but are happy with fuel injection, electronic ignition, power commanders, quick shifters........

good point mate. not tried a QS but once one goes on the bike i know i'll like it.

must admit, i'm in the pure bike corner, would never want ABS and i'd be admitting defeat by getting TC (although i know it'd prob make me faster) but all the things you list i'd happily have on my bike... progress ey?

maybe one day we will just think of them as standard, i dont know!? i like to think of them as enhancers which improve on what we have total control over, hence why i have no issues with a QS, i just dont want things thinking for me or loosing that control which i think is the fun of riding.

however, n odoubt in my quest for lap times this year my attitude will change somewhat.... will be interesting no doubt :)

He's probably making more of a reference to what F1 has become :)
I know what you mean though and I'm one of those folk who are not keen on loading bikes with tech for no real reason.
However, what I'm bothered about it taking away control from the rider (I don't really want TC or ABS), but FI, EI, PC, QS don't do that.

Like most things , it's a matter of personal choice. I have no problem about technology such as fuel injection, electronic ignition, PC's etc because they do not interfere with my riding style.

Personally, If I felt I needed traction control and ABS on my bike to enable me to ride faster or safer I think I would start to think my days on a 1000 cc bike should be over and get myself something more in line with my abilities.

I like using 'MY' skills and abilities to ride my bike fast and safe, I like controlling the clutch, the gears, throttle and braking.

Each to their own of course, if some people want it then they can have it, it is an option people can choose or not choose. Having it on a bike does not necessarily make a bike 'better' though, because 'better' means different thing to different people.

I do not think people who do not want all the latest gizmos are living in the dark ages. It is a matter of personal preference, pure and simple. I could have plastic surgery as it's available, but I don't want that either.

you still got the HESD fitted to your bike exfire?,you know, that electronic steering damper that helps stop tank slappers? :)

but yea your right, each to thier own.

would love a full spec'd blade with the full HRC package, think that would be the perfect bike.(and if i decide the beemers not for me,thats my next bike :) )

No Scooby, I got shot of the HESD not long after I got the bike, I fitted a GPRV4 which suits me better.

I would love a ride on a Moto GP bike (although I don't think even all the gizmos would stop me trashing it ;)

I can appreciate all types of bikes and if I had enough money I would probably buy one of each of the main 1000 cc superbikes, including the ones with electronics.

I just enjoy riding using my own skill and abilties (for better or worse) when I am riding.

Slipper clutches are good, had a few bikes with them in the past but I prefer not having one, makes downshifting more exciting ;)

I have spent more on my bike than the cost of a new S1000R or a Panigale.

I wanted to customise a bike to what I wanted it to be , not what a manufacturer thinks I might want, hence the RR6.

It is as we have both said , a matter of personal choice. I am sure if you get a BMW it will be great, as probably would some other bikes ie RSV, Panigale, etc.

It's good we all like different things, but 'best' is a very individual thing :)

ZX10R's have always been way over-geared so as to attain that headline grabbing top speed.

Ha I know .i think The sp is Hondas way of signing off the end of the era with their flagship superbike . They have never done a special for the blade so it will always be iconic and highly collectable. I Kniw 2 people that have bought them just to moth ball in the garage so seeing one out riding round will be extremely rare .. They will be more Lamborghini diablos cruising round the uk roads at weekends and how often do we see that
