Well done fella, lots of elbow grease and she's looking good Heard good things about this as a alloy cleaner; Sonax Xtreme Rim cleaner PLUS and this to seal it; sonax wheel rim coating.
Thanks for the comments guys. The bike is coming along nicely now. Arthur that's the stuff I was looking for before I started, I remember it being used on a bike build on here that was banned. I've just ordered some thanks. I also ordered a new Renthal 15 tooth front sprocket and 90 deg tyre valves from demon tweeks. Shouldn't take too long now till it's all back in one piece again.
lol thought you may try some.... mix it down 5:1 and see how you go, test a patch and so on... it's good stuff but keep an eye on it, toothbrush helps...
I can remember seeing it being used on the boxer bike. I'll try it first on the front cylinder where the exhaust is, as it can't make it worse than it already is. Thing is as soon as you clean 1 bit like that it can turn into an entire bike strip n clean
Very impressive results, if I hadn't seen the after photos I would believe those results were possible.
I am constantly amazed at this thread - I have done almost nothing to my bike and its rebuild needed after my miss-hap in France in September - however I do now have 3 replacement fairing panels, I know where a brand new clock mount bracket is locally at a fair price so it will start soon(ish) I hope.
Get into it Al. It'll only take a day or so to get the bike back together. Also while the fairings are of you can give it a service with plenty of room.
I keep using it! - its on track on Sunday and got one booked for mid Feb - but that gives 6 weeks - Got the ECU and lock set to swap over, replacement genuine tail unit to locate and have painted black. Then its onto dealer for new cam chain tensioner and replace the clutch cable (have a complete cable assembly to put on) Fingers crossed that will be it back in 'fair' condition - also going to clean downpipes / engine with 'Optigalnze' - brilliant German product from Hein Gerrik. Its not much in scheme of things compared to your works.
Well that's at least gives a good excuse for not getting it done Al. I can understand why it's not done now. Fair play to you for keeping it rolling in all conditions.
Managed to get the engine back in the bike today. I'll post up some pics later once I get a bite to eat. It's getting there now.
Sounds good mate, maybe as your coolant system is empty you would run Evans powercool.. Im going to be testing it in the next few weeks in a few bikes, lots of good reviews and used in Honda Dakar bikes.
Yes and before I trash Colin's thread on the pros and cons I will say on paper it's ace but real world feedback for race bikes is hard to find as rules don't allow it but Honda Dakar bikes are running it so does David Knight KTM enduro team, a good few others on here and elsewhere have run it and now I have some on order for some testing.. even Spalders has some sat on the side to try on his Ducati project.. post any questions on the other waterless thread and we shall debate it...lol
