Had sportsmarts on mine last year and thought they were fantastic. An hour or two and they were scrubbed in with no problems... Maybe yours were just alittle greasy. The roads in derby were pretty slippy this morning to be fair.
I think we have to give a little payback to the Dunlops here. 1st The roads are cold and also there may be just a little bit of dew or mist not visable to the eye. Then we have just had yet another dusting of grit so again not ideal. Then lets not ever forget the power of the bike, sometimes you here comments from ex racers saying this or that bike is as good as my 2003 superbike i won 4 races with and last ,you have just had brand new fresh out of the factory tyres not scrubed in and most of us havn't got a clue what we are doing .So just take it nice and steady thats why the fitters give us the little talk prior to leaving.
the wear rate isnt at all good with the rosso corsas my mate has them on a zx6r and he wont get 2k miles so a thou would chew them up? thats why i went with the plain rosso 2s i have done 1k miles and they look new still.
I've got the sportsmarts, did what I always do. Got them fitted to lose wheels, re fitted the wheels, muc off and 160 wet and dried them. No issues what so ever, I think their awesome tyres.
Had a pair fitted a couple of weeks ago, went out and did 100 miles or so. had no problems at all. love them.
Well today was the first day out with the sportsmarts a quick 40 miles to scrub em in a bit for the IOM on friday! and no probs at all fwlt planted and grippy as fooking lovely tyre i put the off,s down to road condition or right wrist!
they are great. added over 2k onto mine including fast road, track days and touring. and still going strong
