Come on Young Tyke, get that long suffering Bike fixed up ready for the 19th ready for another Battering!
If I bring the fridge out of hibernation (and it will now have wets that fit - may just need to buy new tyres for them mind) the least you lot can do is turn up! It should be loads less hassle being a Satuday for many people.
Is that for proper wets? Having seen Andy, Y.T. Jason and others 'on it like a...' previously I am amazed and shocked at the grip they get so fear getting some crap type and ending up in a bush!
not wishing to piss on your fire as such, but the quickest i get around there is a shade over 140,and thats doing a 1.48 lap,so either your speedo is out or your going very slow around corners. (thats GPS aswell so vry accurate) oem speedo's are out quite a bit from factory,by about 5-10%,plus if you have then lowered your gearing will make a bigger difference.
just check the tread,if the edges of the tread are still sharp then they will be fine, dont get a set thats been ripped up through use on a drying track, they lose te ability to cut through the water so give less grip
No that'll be for some Metzeler K2 Racetecs or equiv' Best Wets going are Dunlops, I have them on my spare wheels and can vouch for their 'rear in the air' stopping power, never mind their Knee down cornering grip (done by others, but beyond me ATM) http://www.trackdayriders.co.uk/tdr/forum/what-wet-tyres_topic40237.html
Maybe speedo is out not really that bothered anymore more bothered about lap times . iF you watch sine waves video from yesterday you can see his speedo doing 140 + as well, like I said don't want to know anyway .
Ya probably right Scoobs, being as I can only Lap Oulton 23-25 seconds slower than U can. However it does depend on what your riding I would have thought? Most Fast Guy's will Piss on me on say an R6 on an overall Lap times, but Litre Power will let you attain some good straight line Top end speeds even though your overall time is slower. I've seen 164mph on the ZX10 on Darley Moor's back straight in the poring rain on Dunlop Wets, but I'm dam sure my overall lap time is way off a more agile bikes pace with a more competent rider aboard than little ole moi!
it depends on weather, really need to get ot before jerez to get bike set up a bit more for me,so i think theres a day at start of novembe,so will stick some inter tyres on and try to get a day in then.
yea your right, corner speed will+does make a big difference, but i was on a blade. tbh you'll not be far out,but i think 155 will be pushing it,you'd be suprised how hard it is just to gain a few mph once you get upto your speeds
