Track bike is definitely the way to go if you start doing them regularly. I run a 2006 GSXR 750 as a track bike it's an CAT C so was cheapish to buy. So far it's saved me a fortune in two relatively minor offs. Once was a run off into the gravel which I nearly saved but toppled over at the last second. You wouldn't believe how abrasive that stuff is. The fairings were pretty well grazed but it didn't stop me riding the rest of the day. I could have left it as was but a patch up and respray by a mate cost me £150 and it looked better than before. The next was a high side but the bike came off fairly well. Needed Foot peg Crash bung Front disk (borrowed from my set of wets at the moment) Ok so it's a bit tatty but who cares. Hate to think what that would have cost if it had been the blade. Also means I'm not off the road while I'm patching it up.
