Not many people seem to like the RC8? I looked after one of the BSB support bikes in 2009 #33 and did grow to love the KTM over the years racing, its easy to work on and the"R" I had on loan for two weeks as thanks was a dream bike, one of the best road bikes I have ever rode! It still shocks me to say that I loved it but it was awsome even two up I could ride it like a solo..
I rode my mates RC8 and loved it, I was going to buy one but the residuals and finance package put me off in the end so I went with the blade. It was a little firm, if thats what you mean Ben lol, but after a few miles it felt really nice to ride. Must say Im tempted by the 1199 when the blade gets to 3 years old it looks fantastic, plus it will give them time to iron out any small niggles they may have (or big ones). Is the ohlins spec right accross the range ? what makes the S so much more ?
The S model has full Ohlins the base has Marzocchi forks and Sachs rear shock, the Ohlins bikes are electronic (DES) comp and reb also the S has the new BOSH ABS, not just any old ABS but full WSB spec package so I am told, so anti rear wheel hop and all sorts..
MMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Tech Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm I thought as much but was not sure have only seen 1199 pics with ohlins, also love the color dash
Yeah it's a proper TFT screen too. I wonder if you can download Angry Birds onto it?.....................
Would help when you have broken down and waiting for transport lol (sorry arthur) Hard to forget the reliability issues of the past !
Ducati will never live down the 916's shoddy rockers....lol Dont say sorry mate remember I ride a Honda..lol Ok Ok I do own an 848... shhhh...
I really like that bike, but the exhaust lets it down IMO. I've been seriously thinking about selling my CBR for something Italian. Either a Duc or an Aprilia. The RSV4 Factory Tuono looks amazing.
Had a look at the bike at the show today.... first impressions it very similar riding position to the blade very narrow no space between the fairing unlike the R1 and by god its tiny ..... looking at the back of the bike well its the best looking back end of any bike i have seen.... the shock sitting the way it does is very unusual but not horrible looking.... first thoughts the banks will be dealing with a lot of people taking second mortgages out to buy this ...also forget about how bad Ducati was in the past they like BMW and Aprilia are moving forward at bigger rate now and are catching up with Honda's brilliant mid range torque.... yes it also comes down to cost as well but after a while looking at the same thing all the time represents a change to something else
Some more images and points now times past a little The rad look a little err venerable 5 years in the making and they managed to hide the side stand spring Don't like the narrow screen and hate the mirrors how ever well they may work Some concerns about fatigue on the shock mount over time and will the servos get in the way! Don't get me wrong I still like it but for me its not perfect.. Oh and I don't like that you can see the abs modulator
So then Arthur ... are you saying that the rad had attained the first degree of sanctity as proclaimed by the Catholic Church
LOL. There's two distinct groups on here. Those who don't use their spell checker and those who use autocomplete and don't read it back.
