I agree completely, electronic suspension is a little pointless cos if you find a decent road setting and a decent track setting all you need is a bit of paper and a pen and 5mins clicking turns in out out :) save the money and get better suspension is my call.

Lol maybe.. my mate Paul with the BMW has just traded it in today for the 2012! They are swapping all his bling etc onto the new bike f.o.c! And he gets his 1199s tricolour in two or three weeks time! Now thats a lucky bugger!! As for the 1199 the one to have imo is the 16k 1199 with ABS then get Ohlins kit later on, the ABS is a must as its not like any other abs and will help tame the big fat M50's and 330mm discs. My GP4s and T Drive discs could do with abs let me tell you!

Dont mean to be picky BUT the R model should have full blown TTX36 shock and not that DU511... maybe they downgraded it... ;)

Me and Chris went over to have a look at the 1199 got him a test ride on the 1198 base to get an idea of what a big twin is like, I went on my SuperMoto for the laugh was going to offer a go of the big Yam but thought he'd need to shave his head in case he gets stopped...lol

Yeah come on Chris tell us what you thought of the base 1198! Tell you one thing I know it's another level but we all talk about what's best this and that but at top level where all have the same rules and regs that 1098R don't do bad for a 5 year old bike just shows that you can have this and that in 2012 and it be not faster than something from 2007 guess that was the magic year for race bikes.. ;)

Just went to Ducati in Bristol to have a butchers at the 1199 as I had a meeting up there, can not get over how small the bike is !

Looked at the S model and it is drop dead gorgeous, the wheels, the shocks everything and the best back end I have seen on any bike :)

My mate had to drag me out of the shop as I started asking possible trade in prices on the blade !!!!!!
