Very very good vans, when it gets to 100k miles change the big end shells cos they can break up.The shells on the later vw engine have no square slots in them. When they are worn with mileage they turn round in their guides and can do damage to the crank.A mate has these as minibuses for cabs as well as the skoda octavias. All late vw, skoda and audi have the same engine. It hasn't stopped him buying more of them. Cos they are very good alround vehicles.
Van looks awesome, but not so sure about the bit of roof behind it - think I can see a few slipped tiles that need looking at pronto
Not one that I've done Al, would've made a far better job if I had. Got a leak on the main roof and just can't get round to it..........
Do we have a good roofer on here Al? I know a roofer with a good van Moving on. Quickly. Ill be more than happy with the trailer Steve. You saw my predicament when you visited on Monday. Not a lot of space I admit. A plus point, At least I will be able to take the trailer through the garage and then wrap it up against the elements, and store it on its side out of the way. A good sheet will help wrap the bike should I be traveling on the road in poor weather. So long as I do it right, I shouldn't end up with a big sail hanging out the back. Ooh another plus point, I'll be able to collect all the non returnable pallets for my log burner too. It just gets better.
as a side note if you do go down the trailer route, whatever you do don't put a cover on,it will shred to bits at best, pull your bike off or mangle in the wheels at worse.
one of the no limits guys turned up at oulton the other day,and his bmw1000rr was wrapped in cling flim and hadnt come off after 200 miles up the M6 !!!! thought it was a good idea ?
