Go out and buy yourself a cheap pre injection 600 ie Steele cbr or R6. Spares cheap as chips and more than quick enough for a track novice!
Unless you are very unlucky (Repsol Rob) there is no need to crash on a track day if you keep your head. The trouble comes when you get the bug and start wanting to push on a bit. At that point buy a track bike because you will crash sooner or later. A simple tip off into the gravel will scrap hell out of your fairings. To all the people suggesting trying to claim a track accident happened on the road to get paid out be aware of the risk you would be taking. It's not a trivial thing. Insurance companies are not stupid and have all sort of means at their disposal when assessing claims including voice analysers when you phone in your claim. You would be committing fraud punishable by upto 10 years in prison. Even if you got away with a refusal to pay out you may find no insurance company would ever insure you again.
I was unlucky......im sure it was spillage on the track as someone had already had a big off a lap earlier writing off a hired bike .....and lucky no one ran into me but as careful as you are there are always some lunatics who think they are faster than Stoner and occassionally some knob trying to prove himself in the novices ....... but use your loaf and you ll have a brill day.....
