A Friday Si, You're more than welcome mate. I just turn up on the bike with a pressure guage and a screwdriver and food and drink in a bag I dont fanny about with spare this and that. Done Silverstone once and Donny about 5/6 times with another fourm that I used to go on and loved every second.
Anglesey a good first track day track wide loads run off nice track can get a bit windy I like the shorter track with the corkscrew . Can be a bit daunting with briefing etc . Just take it easy at first main thing is getting your tyres warm and set your braking points and extent them as you get quicker . Don't worry about people behind you etc keep eyes forward and on the next corner one lapse of concentration on track can cause a panic lock up etc but just look for run offs before whacking the anchors . I started in 2007 novice on my gsxr1000 and have never looked back love them . Meet really nice people who will help give advice . Can't wait to get back on track now oh check pads and lower pressures than road but tyre people will help you out . Most of all it's not a race have fun don't get black flagged for sparks aswell ooooops
Mmmmmmmm? Only my opinion Si but what roads do you like to ride? Mountains, lakes, forests and rollercoasters come to mind for me. Did the California Superbike School and Aston Martin experience there and along with Croft and Anglesey it was very flat and featureless. I prefer Cadwell, Oulton and the likes of Brands (which I haven't done yet). Don't get me wrong, you'll still have a great day but for your next one choose a track that is more akin to a road in The Alps, a place I know you love to ride.
Couldn't agree more. Brands gp is a real treat! Although snet is flat as fcuk, but what a blast. I'd say the best 1st td track. Big, wide, open, fast with plenty of safe(ish) run offs...
Yeah, mountains, ups and downs and undulations are right up my street, i dont like straights particulary, they bore me rigid, but any trackday at any track appeals to be fair, as it's my first one. I'll use the metzeler m5's as they will be new, should be scrubbed in for the euro trip after! Prob get either a an or trailer, see what the score is. thanks guys for your replies! Im looking forward to the knobbly bits of rubber proper bikers have on the edges of the tyres too...
Think I'm going to book this for my 1st of the year... Will travel up Sunday afternoon and come home Monday night...
