Hey chaps As Craig says, I've got the full Bazazz system on my 08 blade. Firstly, for the money it's good. I originally just wanted something to sort out my fueling and a QS. But for the cash, and ratings from the guys over in the US, Bazazz seemed the way forward. The all singing and dancing FI ,QS and TC box, with map switch and TC trim adjustment cost me around $680. I did buy other things, so got some $$ discount. The TC does work and smoothly cuts power when it sees the engine revs spike. One thing I do notice is in the wet with progressive slides do not really activate the TC (even on full sensitivity!). You can configure the TC in every gear, therefore for me I have the following, but do trim and I'm still playing with it. The software is easy to use. 1 - 7 2 - 7 3 - 5 4 - 4 5 - 0 6 - 0 0 is off. You can switch off the TC with the handle bar switch, see below on my bike: For me the TC option was just a few more dollars, so I thought it would be a better box to sell on when I get rid of the bike. I only do trackdays now with the odd weekend blast. I still ride within my limits (and skill!) and don't expect the TC to save me from highsides, but it does help when nailing the gas more aggressively. Just to note, I ride in 30-40 degree heat on Supercorsa SC2 tyres. So grip is quite amazing without the TC. I cannot comment about the colder UK weather riding. All in all, if you want the real deal, buy a TC system that uses wheel sensors.
The Bazazz controls 8 injectors where are the PC5 only controls 4. However, the mapping for the Bazzaz is per 500 rpm, where as the PC5 is per 250pm I believe. I also bought the Bazazz Autotune, which means I can self map and adjust with just a few clicks on the software.
I've been running PCV on my 07 blade since 2008 (the 600rr unit is the same loom) I also have AT200 for the compleat PCV package, that with the HM Shifter makes for a good overall setup. The PCV is widly used in racing and is a means to map the stock ECU, the secondary fuel mod allows the mapping of the upper four shower injectors, there is little need to map these unless the bike is in a high state of tune, they also do the ignition modual to allow mapping if the ht timing, this is where dynojet can cut the ignition system to give clean shifts for the quickshifter, however all other quickshifters other than the HM are flawed. I know a new shifter is planned for the Bazzaz in 2012. The upper shower injectors play a very different role in how fuel enters the motor on the blade, imo its a major plus side to the fuel system on the Honda over many other superbikes. To take full advantage of the secondary fuel modual and the ignition modual you are looking for an engine tuner to map your bike and not just a dyno opp.
Arthur, can you pm me in detail exactly what you have in terms of set up to run the pcv, very interested.
No need mate all the info you need is here:- http://www.powercommander.com/powercommander/powercommanders.aspx?mk=19&mdl=208&yr=2007&pc=16-022&mk-n=Honda&mdl-n=CBR 1000 RR &pc-ver=PCV&add-mdlyrid=16-022&add-mdlyrid2=16-022&fullstr=16-022 I was involved with DynoJet with the 07 when the PCV first came into the picture as my OLD 07 was not so OLD.. I did loads of write ups on how it works and the AT on the 1000rr.net site so if you search my username you should find the posts.. Back then we knew the 07-08 600rr unit ran the same loom so a quick reprogram and she was born! Now they sell the PCV (16-022) for the 06-07 bikes but it is the 600rr unit reprogramed and packed for the 07, check part numbers when you order mate. It works VERY well and WE (me and dynotech) tested it on the Dyno to see how well the BOSH sensor and AT was working it poroved to be 100% the SAME as the dyno! Shocking, however there are some small down sides to a AT map, its not 100% leave alone so it does need checking up on (what that I ever check mine anymore) and the AT make corrections moments after the RPMs have passed by so you could argue that its the custom base map thats what does the bizz, well thats true but a base map is only correct on the time of dyno so imo there is always room for AT..
No.. Just checked the link and works here shows 2007 blade the Available PCV products down the right hand side and under that PC3 products.. Screen Cap:-
UK DJ site lists prices PCV prices for 04-07 & 08-11... DynoJet Power Commander V Prices & Applications
Some good replies here, am I right in thinking, if I was to buy the all singing Bazzaz with traction control, I could also use this to sort out mapping issues if I fit a Yoshimura R77 exhaust without the need of a power commander. Just a thought. Plenty of time. Well. Till next winter anyway
