No. But I prefer to respect the wishes of Triumph lest it backfire on me. If a man has no honour, he has nothing.
Righty...I've got a taser and I know his address....if anyone's any cable ties and wants to meet me 0600hrs in the morning pm me
You won't need the cable ties - I have heaps in my bedroom drawer! Damn easy tying myself to the bedpost, but helluva job getting out of them.
An email from Triumph posted on the ph forum.... From my local triumph dealer: I am emailing you as a previous Triumph Sports Bikes owner, just to give you a heads up on an exciting new model coming soon. The Triumph Moto 2 partnership was bound to be backed up with a relevant road bike at some point, and we have word of the new 'Daytona' 765 to be loosely revealed at the end of the month (with full release at Silverstone GP late August). This will be produced in a TFC (Triumph Factory Custom) spec, of only 765 units worldwide. These TFC models show case the best materials, manufacturing techniques and specification but will also be backed up by only 765 Worldwide 'normal' models. The last TFC launch, of the Rocket 3, saw all units sold out before any official line was given on the bike, and we expect to see this happen again here (at least the TFC models). To put this into UK only figures, there will be about 125 or each variant, so a total 250 bikes produced with no plans to repeat. If you are interested, please call or email me for more details, and bear in mind, that we can reserve a place with the relevant deposit, and once full details (price/power/etc) known always cancel or resell and return your deposit. Once they are sold, however good your offer, we cannot get more. So I presume that's what you've put your deposit on Nige
Hopefully it is a proper limited run, not a Honda "Limited SP until next year when it will almost be the standard bike run" Will be good if the other manufacturers respond and reinvigorate the mid size sports bike class.
VERY interesting Miss Lozzy. My search skills are severely lacking because I can't find that. Nevertheless, there is much conflict between what I have been told and the email you post. Quite obviously, if Triumph is to post such detail (assuming it's an 'authorised' release) there is absolutely no reason why I should not weigh in with what I have been told as a genuine customer. The email conflicts with what I was told yesterday, which was that there's only to be 150 UK bikes and no TFC. I couldn't even find out if it's got Ohlins and Brembos. Also, it 'seems' as if there will be no numbered yokes (as was reported in 6 February MCN). Taking these things into account, it makes the bike not much more than a 'standard' Daytona, but with a 765 powerplant. That takes the gloss off owning the bike from my perspective because the whole point of securing this particular bike was to have a 'special' as a collectors' item rather than a normal production bike. I could even reverse my decision on this. I suppose all will be revealed at the Silverstone Moto GP. A worthy point, because that is EXACTLY what happened with Triumph's 'Bobber'. Was produced as a limited run, but met such public acceptance that it was put into general production and is now one of the top sellers. I guess this shows certain parallels with putting up a show home in a display village. Test public appeal and then saturate the market with the special 'Bloor Exclusive Limited 4-Bedroom Palace.'
