That's an option I'm still debating graeme, flight dates not out yet but will keep my eye out. Thing about the ferry is you're not restricted to luggage limits etc.
Out on 30th and back on 12th Colin! Fcuk Fcuk Fcuk!!! They've got me returning on the Fri instead of the Sat I'll have to email them I'm not such a happy bunny now
Every year is a struggle to get a decent crossing, don't forget come end of Feb when tickets have to be paid is a good time to try and change. This year isn't great for me but I'm just grateful to get over there.
I've just booked my tickets for next year as well. I got 5th - 13th June. Cattle barge outta larne. Have a mate who has a fishing boat was tempted to ask him for a lift rather than pay the steam racket.
We got a cabin yesterday on the way over. Was well worth it. Free tea, coffee, biscuits, wifi, tv in the room, and 4 beds (obviously we only needed two). Worth it to split the extra £48 between 4 of you tho to be able to strip off your gear and be able t leave it. Or to get a wee kip, which we did. You can still view the TT DVD that they show in the main lounge too.
Well guys Steampacket were most helpful with getting my dates wrong! I phoned them and spoke to a young lady who basically without actually saying the word said Tuff, shit happens phone us again end of Feb 2015 the boats are full what do want us to do about it It was there fcuk up! but they've got you by the knackers!.... So I am booked to return home the morning of the senior race I'm feel like buying a big fcuk off boat and start up my own ferries and only charge diesel money and a cup of tea! I think maybe developing anger issues
There was rumour last year about an alternative ferry company but not heard anything since being there last year.
I heard that rumour as well and also heard the last time someone tried to compete with the Steam Packet the competitors boat was found to have sugar in with the diesel.
Lucky you got over today. Went to take the wife over for her first time, and lo and behold it was closed. Been closed more than it's been open this week I think. I was sure I passed you guys when we were heading back to Douglas tho. Recognised the red blade.
Think it was ellan vannin, the Manx government refuse to rent them the dock in Douglas for a scheduled sailing.
