So the moral to all this I guess, is show your disgust by moving to another insurance company, insurance IMO is one of the biggest cons "for the honest people" going, ;)

I was gonna say how does it stand when they are factory accessories fer example, you buy a blade with Honda racing front n rear hugger/mudguards, a hrc tank pad and matching covers for fuel filler cap, is that 3 or 4 mods or 2 as they come in a pair? Or none at all because their factory fitted???

And is braided lines one upgrade or 3 if you have clutch as well???

What I dont get is most after market parts are cheaper than OEM, stock RR8 exhaust can is around £1400, rider hangers are around £300 per side and so on, also they talk about the likes of PCV and power but lets face it ive never used a 100bhp to nip to the cafe' let alone 160... :S

Did you notice that it also said that an extra will also be tyres if they are not the same as the manufactures standard ... 2 things here the manufactures sometimes fits tyres that they get from the tyre companies that are not available for the general public in other words one offs... also if you look at your bike manual inside it will tell you the make of tyres that should be fitted to your bike...... mine said Bridgestones but the bike was fitted with Dunlops .....there goes that one then Bennetts

Well, there's enough of us at NEC, see if the Bennetts stand is busy and kick off loudly there. Make sure the other punters hear about it. See if that's sufficient f*****g feedback for them.

Are we now going to see insurance companies jumping on the Brussels anti biking bandwagon with the likes of Bennett's refusing to insure or cancelling your policy if you commit the ultimate sin of having more than three so called modifications attached to your pride & joy? There goes another hard pressed accessories company to the wall down to this ridiculous notion that fitting a tank pad to your motorcycle will incur a massive risk to your insurer, the fitting of crash bungs or secondary engine covers seem to suggests that you are likely to ride like Casy Stoner or maybe we just fit them to save our bikes from further damage just in case you are a victim of the sorry mate I didn't see you brigade. Manufacturers are having to come up with more ways to sell their products and this usually involves giving away free or reduce price accessories to tempt customers, if insurance companies are going to penalise riders with bikes smothered with bling then I fear we are on a downward spiral, A common sense attitude must be adopted to insure the industry survives in the 21st century.

With most of Europe including the UK now heading for a certain recession the last thing we need is further restrictions to the motorcycle industry which is already on it's knees, this can only have a negative effect on small businesses trying to scrape a living so if Bennett's or any other insurance company feels it necessary to impose these draconian measures then think again as it will be your business that will suffer in the long term as more and more riders hang up their leathers for good.

If this reaches all insurance companies, and they do the same, then the aftermarket companies will go bust as people will avoid mods in case of invalid insurance. Lose lose situation all round, and manufacturers are in the shit as profits go already these days.
Bennets are utter tools to even consider classing accessories as modifications, never mind actually putting it on their insurance declaration for current bike owners. The manufacturers and resellers of aftermarket bits should raise hell over what Bennets have done, as at the end of the day, can cause mass unemployment for said companies. Knock on effect etc.

There's an old saying, love goes out the window when poverty enters through the door.
