and what am I supposed to do with this? I can turn the nut around, but it doesn't do much :D :D

I feel like an utter knob doing this, I can take the blade apart blindfolded and do all the work myself, but trying to get this work is like rocket science :D :D

Adjust to make the threaded bit shorter.

Wind it in towards the lever/hinge but like I said a tiny bit at a time and watch where it touches as you lift, as it will bend if too far

OK sorry, lads, but I'm also having the same problem. I've finally got around to dremelling the plate so I can get the pins in and the lift's set up to the point where it lifts the bike both wheels off the ground but, like Skippy, it won't lock out when fully lifted.

I understand that I need to adjust the threaded bolt at the hinge but when I tighten the bolt it just locks it but doesn't adjust it.

If I undo the nut I can then screw the threaded bar clockwise or anti clockwise with backs it out of the top anchor point and into the bottom but that's not narrowing the distance between the two???

Yeah now I've just done this

Where did you get the bolt from, Martin?

Mine's now working .. Some patience and rearranging the wheels a bit did it for me. Went to see a friends Constand lift which is similar but without wheels & damper and sets you back appr 250 quid .. So big thanks to Andy

I bought another from the supplier of the stand but I'm sure the gold bits wind off the bolt so should be able to pick the bolt part up for penny's at your local nut and bolt shop

That part is what i would call a "turnbuckle" you need to disconnect the top part by removing the spring clip on the back of the silver coloured bit and then remove the pin, then turn the gold coloured part clockwise or anti clockwise until the distance from the underside of the nut (when locked against the gold bit) and the top of the bottom bit is approx 32 mm that's what mine is set to and it locks out fine

Yeah I just got that too. I think I can see why. I've got it all set up but it lifts the bike at an alarming angle. All the weight's resting on the top pin because the bottom one's not long enough. ie it doesn't go far enough into the bike.

I had to drill out the slot longer just like everyone else.. and the bottom pin is too thin, so I've had to put a spacer on it to have the bike at 0 degrees.. otherwise it leans like the tower of pisa.. not the best even if it is cheaper than other brands..

Totally agree Rich but i sure as hell aint going thru the bother of sending this thing back and then waiting god knows how long for a replacement stand/adapter, i am gonna have a good look at the stand in the morning and maybe take the stand into our workshop and do some non invasive testing on it and see if it can be fettled to make it work correctly, i am a mechy engineer so " How hard can it be" as Clarkson would say

The slot on my adapter plate is correct length and both pins are a good fit although the bike does lean away from the stand column but i put that down to the fact that the casters are loose and i have had to grind down a 13mm spanner thin enough to tighten up the caster lock nuts ( not done this yet) but will see if this changes how the bike sits when lifted

You mentioned the bottom pin being too thin? I think that the top pin is actually doing the lifting and the bottom pin is setting the angle of the bike when aloft on the stand although to be honest there is a very very thin line between lifting level and lifting on the piss and that is the only two chances you get.....
