I had a run out to Loomis yesterday, the place was totally packed and once I manage to weave my way into the car park, I could hardly get out again. But great to see so many people taking advantage of an early spring day. Then went on to Bury Hill with a couple of guys I randomly meet up with, Martin & Daz (Blade & R1), I was short shifting and taking the corners easy due to the bike only have 20 miles on it from new, shifting up at around 6k as I want to run it in properly. Some bikes just stand out more than others........ LOL.
@Lozzy how long would that road be that takes you up past all 3 damns ? & where does it go to ? Cheers Steve
its about 7 miles long and goes past ladybower, derwent and howden reservoir. Its a dead end so you have to return back to the snake road. Also think its closed sat/sun and BH mon.
@Stevie_d that's right and yes it's closed half way up from the cafe at weekends apart from foot bicycle and a bus service, it's rammed in summer at weekends so best going in week outa school hols. It's well worth a tootle up
@Stevie_d This is looking down the dams from the dead end towards the Snake Pass Rd. The dam road is on the right of the piccy you can just see it winding thru woods. The raf use it for practise sometimes and you get the old planes on anniversary of dambusters raise etc
