I like it. Different and will take a bit of getting used to but overall - it's good. I used to run a popular forum myself and I know how much work goes into forum templates and forum upgrades etc. It's a nightmare! Obviously the pages load slower now that there's no Repsol on the page
Mobile is so much easier to type on. You can also upload pictures much easier directly via the mobile. It is much quicker to browse the forum from a mobile now too. I've upgraded 4 forums now to this software and every time I get this feedback. But everyone prefers it after a while! Trust me!
Also - the mobile version and destop version are exactly the same in terms of functionality. Only things are hidden more to make it easier to use on mobile when the screen size reduces.
No offense mate, but I'm not fussed what other feedback you've had... or what you think i'll like, im telling you I don't like mobile versions, never have never will.... even if it is faster etc... Not taking anything away from the new site, think it looks great and very user friendly - and when finished i'm sure will be a good improvement, but the mobile view for me is a real downer as most of my time on the forum is on my phone..... I tend not to use my PC (work one) as it can be a little obvious - whilst at work! on the big screen, even more so now it has a great big motorbike either side of the text pain.... But like you say, sure the majority will like it. or you can continue to ignore peoples view.
It was down most of the day and its back on and all different !! Has this happened to everyone ?? I don't like it and want my old forum set up back
Rob is it possible for it to fill the screen, left to right, that way it would look like the other version but with all the new features. Im a little like Jimbo and have been on other boards that have switched to this version and I've never been able to get used to it....
Jimbo, what phone are you using? Most mobile browsers can be configured to pretend they are a desktop browser, so when the Website asks for the browser details, it thinks you're a desktop, and serves up the desktop site.
I thought I was on the wrong site - someone pass me a paper bag to breathe into until this feeling goes away.
Ah... don't know about IPhones... in one of the browsers I have on my Android (Opera Mini) I think it's called "Mobile Browser", and it's ticked by default... if I untick it I get desktop versions of websites. Have a trawl through your browser's settings, hopefully you'll see a similar setting.
When theres a link click on its the same colour so you don't realise its there! the old 1 was blue so you knew can this be reinstated?
I feel your pain buddy ! I thought the North Koreans had been interfering.... It's frustrating me way to much ! I might have to have a break from it for a few days to get over it
