Funny reading TC's thread about having to pay top dollar for a well spec'd German car. I've had 2 M135s and I've had a 20% discount on each and yet JLR you're lucky to get £1500 off. I've had this one for 2 years and I've just been considering where to go next. When you compare it to similar VW, Audi, Seat, etc it's a bargain, so I'll probably end up with another one.
Not long sold this after nearly 5 years. What a mistake. German build Quattro drive train 400hp v8 manual. Loved it ill have another this year!
Holy shit!!! You wanna buy it??? Haha ......i did get pretty lucky, I'd like to think it' still worth what I paid for it, I've kept up the service schedule and added some tasteful extras. Need to get some side steps so the kids can climb into it a bit easier!
Damn! I should have bought that instead of your carbon hugger. About the same price? Seriously though, that is brilliant. I love well-kept history (save for a faltering ex-wife). Is it a daily drive or weekend pleasure cruise?
it is, like most of my stuff at the moment, in bits, a change of job combined with an ailing elderly mum gives me very little time :-(
only picture I've got of both my cars lol a5 2.7tdi 5 door the wife uses (dressed up for wedding renewal) and the scirocco 2.0tdi in background. Love them both, a5 for motorway miles and easy cruising then the scirocco for blazing round the lanes and dragging my arse to work everyday
Not got a picture of mine handy but its a MK2 VW Scirocco. Same as the on below (but mines more project than concourse )
Ive always felt blessed that I dont really like cars. Feel sorry for friends who fork out several hundred a month for the pleasure of driving round in a posh car they will probably never own. Mine's a tatty old golf that I fix on the driveway, its cost me the same in 5 years that some folk pay in a month. But if people can get the same pleasure from their cars I get from my bikes then its worth every penny to them. P.s great thread!
I like cars too (not as much as bikes). I definately live in the budget territory when i comes to cars. Don't think i've ever spent more than £600 buying one. The Akrapovic system on my 7r cost more than my Scirocco My best one was a MK2 Golf Gti 8V for £500 had been tuned by the previous owner but it just kept going and going. Wish I still had it as prices for them seem to have rocketed lately.
try and buy cars made in uk as well, maybe foreign owned but built in plants here....just need Norton to build a affordable superbike ....oh and triumph .....please no one feel sorry for me.....I have a great time in my posh car... Only here once then it's 6ft under.....anyone fancy a bentley....
