looked at the sorry state of it after by brother left it home running on fumes and covered in mud. I reminded him he needs to sort it out the lazy sod.
Spent an hour with a mate checking/setting my sag. Rear was pretty good (31mm...... suggested range is 25mm for track up to 32mm for road). Front was a bit out (42mm... suggested range is 34mm for track up to 38 for street)... and that equated to 8.5 turns of preload out from full. By a bit of trial and error, got the front to 37mm, which equated to 5.5 turns of preload out from full. The difference is unbelievable. The bike used to "settle" into a certain lean angle, almost like it had a natural frequency it preferred... which was great if the corner/speed required that angle, a bit tense if it didnt! Now though, bike feels like it can take a corner at whatever angle I need it to, it has no natural preference. When hitting bumps the bike feels completely neutral. I simply cannot believe it has taken me so long to find the time to do this...... Ladies and Gentleman, CHECK YOUR SAG!!!
Replaced my Datatool alarm LED that fell apart due to water ingress again.....just very poor quality.
today i stripped all the goodies off my sp2 ready for the big bye bye :/ carbon hugger, speedo healer, ti akros, pc3, daytona grips & alarm/immobiliser - everything except the grips & alarm have got new owners already will pay for bling for the new blade, which is due to arrive on thursday. all im after for now is decent hugger, pilly cowl and tail tidy.... i did try to get the stealer to throw them in but no chance lol... i still feel like ive robbed them tbh (makes a change eh!) the oem exhaust can stay for a bit unless something drops into my lap with a pcv or bazzaz! i did say the next bike i get will be a quiet one after years of riding big unbaffled vees
Upgraded the front end with FGRT813 and Brembo M4's. The black clock surround for the 11 Repsol was added with the carbon clock bracket and Harris clipons.
Fitted new Dunlop Sportsmart tyres and went for a ride to the Green Whellie Stop in the sunshine. Spent the rest of the day removing bugs and polishing her.
