Had a full on bike weekend as the wifey was away! Went Burnham-on-sea, Southend & ace cafe Friday! Deep clean and polish/wax on sat morn. Removed pillion foot rests then took a ride to Knightsbridge to check of some of the Arab super cars... Metal amounts of money there! Adjusted chain sun morn with a quick clean and went to the pub! Good weekend!!
My bike was at 16,000 miles - no shims required. Inlets were oily dirty, and he cleaned these as well as the entire engine and underneath, chain and sprockets look like new again!!! Amazing work Arthur did!!!
My pleasure mate, was great to meet you, the girls said you are the coolest person they have ever met... Id have to agree you are one cool dude!
Fitted a replacement number plate light. Not much fun as the old negative lead had gone AWOL and I couldn't get the rear cowl off. Also replaced and loctite'd the mirror bolts after one went diffy when going round Blyton last Friday. Didn't want to pay the £2 per bolt from Honda so bought a box of various size Allen bolts from Halfrauds for under £8 Even had to dig out my tap and die set for one of the sockets, proper black hand gang today Now need to see if I can find some caps/blanks to fit in the Allen bolts.
Fitted my new Pirelli DRC's and taken a long tide to loomies to scrub them in! Fitting new bottom cowl when I get home to replace the one I cracked at the Weston bike meet
Rebuilt calipers, rebuilt front subframe assembly (clocks/overflow/damper), fitted new throttle cables and assembly (HRC), new killswitch, airbox/tank back on and she runs again. Yey!
not my bike but set up the suspension on my dads 2004 R1, thing handles great now and no more tank slapping...and actually cornered better than my blade around one section of road I use which means I need to check out my own settings which I thought were fine before.
Just come back from family holiday on the Isle of Wight (still a great little island) and decided rightly or wrongly that I was the only local that I trusted to perform my 8000 mile service so did it myself. My nervousness of my new bike is now gone and Im real happy with the work, every nut i took off now has lube on it (ally or copper no more seized nuts for me. Learnt a lot about my new steeds make up and if you have time and the tools i recommend it. ps: I also found out that a couple of the calliper pots are not so good so if anyone has some tidy ones they dont need or want to offer give us a shout. Cheers
Cleaned down pipes on zorst with optiglanze, changed oil and filter. Had washed and waxed it 2 days earlier. Still needs air filter cleaned and power commander fitted before Monday.
Removed rear wheel for new tyre fitting tomorrow Cleaned up chain - its not 100% but loads better than it was Removed air filter, washed it over so it dries overnight Fitted PC5 but not tested / set-up / configured till bike back together tomorrow
Rode her home from work in the pigging rain , will be fitting the renntec rack this weekend and a big clean and lube is planned before getting on the Hull ferry on Friday night for euro trip!
