Fitted some osram nightbreakers, so hopefully I can see what crap road surface is about to try and take me down on my commute.
Fitted some bits as per new 2014 racing regs here! Brake guard! Built a wee bracket from an old tail tidy to hold a rain light
Been a wee bit busy. New forks with MCT internals Also installed new floating discs brembo style. Installed my clutch lever harris style and changed the lever on the brake. Only issue I can't work out how to attach the reservoir bottle to the new brembo M/C.
You can use the OEM res, but you have to cut the mount and reshape it, then mount it to the upper m6 clamp bolt like the Brembo kits, tbh it works well and even uses the OEM pipe too. I do this with a few including this one here if you can see it. Hi res: http://www.myalbum.co.uk/GroteFoto-6HZU7CLI.jpg Same setup only with Oro discs (Oro is Italian for Gold so I'm told) this was a track bike conversion I did last month.
Took the pillion pegs of my Repsol rr9 today, very pleased with the result, it looks so much better, and was not as difficult as I thought (thanks to paulbusdriver) for his detailed instructions on the forum.
Fitted my Garmin Zumo 360 Well chuffed as it only took 30 minutes from start to finish. Got to admit I'd already fitted the. Ram mount in the headstock hole. I'm happy with the location and can adjust it once tank bag is fitted. That's my next job. Petrol cap mounted tank bag.
just picked up my power commander 5, BMC race filter and a new starlane laptimer… now all I need to do is shake off theis cold so I can get cracking on fitting it all….. Also got a HM Quickshifter, GM covers, Gilles rearsets, IRC mastercylinder, braided lines and race clip ons to fit, and all this before the bike gets picked up for monteblanco in Feb…..
I get my Titanium from Pro-Bolt for the standard ones, Mettec for more specialised ones. The rest I get custom made.
looked at the pile plastic boxes she is in in my new shed before the work starts on her re build as i got my planer out for a lad to borrow at work this morning
Just swapped Brembo mc 19x18 across from my trusty giver k2 onto the Blade whilst weather crap. This was to see if I could get rid of the spongy lever feeling with oem mc . Feels much much better, had fitted braided lines last week with no difference to oem mc but voilahappy chap. Will stick with this Brembo and see how it feels on the road . I have fitted Ebc track (not for road use)pads from hps with their 2 for 1 offer , noticeably more bite. I have not put the shims back on the pads but put a bit if copper grease on the back and then red grease on the pistons, this now all seems to greatly reduce brake drag and I now get 3 rotations and not 3/4 that I had previously from front wheel. Is this ok to do guys in the know?
