After spending a bit of wedge on upgrading my forks with some K-tech goodies (which are just sublime!!!) I was a little disappointed that the top adjusters were left unchanged .....so bought some matching pre load adjusters. Only took a week from China!
I also thought about the top adjusters and asked if there was anything that could be done to show that there had been some work done, but without spending another £150 on the full top nut, it is down to adding pre load adjusters.
I looked at it, all shiny and plugged into the optimate, sitting beside a shiny 600RR, and pined to be able to go out on it. The fact it is like a feckin monsoon up here didn't help.
These are the times when I'm better off hiding my bank card. I get bored and just buy sh*t for the bike.
I haven't bought anything for mine in ages, and not been on it since October (work and circumstances) Really missing it. Looking forward to the Scottish bike show actually in the hope that weather is better by then. I just want to buy petrol for it.
1st time out since my off in Nov, and bedding the PR4's mentioned earlier. The roads were dry'ish so I managed to get some miles in the start running the tyres in, but just after taking this photo at Cadwell the heavens opened up and I got a right soaking for the 40min ride home. Washed the bike in the rain, now she's ticking away happily in the garage
Shit hope it was the mad downpour I saw whilst in Lincoln about 3-4pm, horizontal rain and drums on the roof of The Range. Glad you got back safe.
That's the one. Loads of standing water, boots and leathers soaked, plus rain dripping down the inside of my visor. Every gear change was like stepping in a puddle. Not my best ride home, but the tyres are really made for the wintery stuff.
Yesterday and today I had a go at fitting the HID projector headlights I got from BKmoto. I have never done this before and as my bike is quite new I didn't want to ruin my own headlight so I also ordered from the states a replacement headlight unit that was 25 quid plus postage so I thought why not as it will save mine. The quality of the replacement light is shocking, but what did I expect haha. It all went ok and yes it was a learning curve but it was also quite fun. The kit came withal the bits and I also ordered twin halos and LED strips, the only thing that didn't come was mounting plates as I think on this kit they want you to use the original reflectors in the headlight but I didn't want to do this as I thought it looked messy so I decided to make my own from a baking tray kindly donated by the missus. I used the reflectors as a template and then a bit of angle grinder action and Roberts your mothers brother 2 mounting plates. It was pretty easy from then on just follow the instructions and have a look on youtube if you need more help or if your like me and find it easier to follow instructions if you can see what they are doing. So that was yesterday and today it was time to fit them onto the bike. After a bit of faffing as I wanted to make sure I had good connectors everywhere so if I need to take off a panel I can just unplug the system and remove the panel. So there it is all done, still not 100% sure about the LED wings what do you think???
Took the lower fairings and rear hugger to the paint shop today to get them sprayed in gloss black. Should get them back some time next week, just hope they make a good job of them.
Cleaned, polished, sealed the front wheel and put the discs back on with new titanium bolts! Looks so much nicer, is a nicely looked after bike, just never lovingly cleaned or waxed !
