Took my blade to Race Lab in Bournemouth where Paul tuned the suspension to my body profile and riding style. He did an excellent job explaining each step and adjustment in detail to give me the understanding of how the adjustments effect the dynamics of the bike. Paul specialises in suspension tuning and also works with gearlink kawasaki in British Supersport. Well worth the visit.

What did i do to my blade today?

I fitted a set of front brake pads; a set as in all 4 not 2 as I previously ordered, doh!

I also tried to remove the "warning" stickers from the tank and swing arm. I gave up pretty soon as i realize i will need a bloody heat gun!

Rubbed flakey paint off sides of rad and guard ready for painting in Satin Black hamerite

Washed bodywork down ready for re-fitting tomorrow

Removed snitcher so need to shrink wrap the end of old cables.

Electrics sorted for removed snitcher, Tail unit back on, fairings cleaned up and one infill panel re-fitted correctly so gap now gone (annoyed me for a year that)

Rad and guard painted, just waiting for them to dry before fans go back on rad and re-fit, replace coolant then when testing / bleeding it get ready for oil change.

Lots of photos taken so show changes made / clean up.

Washed my bike again this year, topped up the oil, adjusted the chain for the second time recently, so it's on its way out, put some air in the tyres as they were a bit scabby, and finally got around to greasing the side stand pivot so that it goes back too where it should.

Mopped some scuffs and marks of the tank that were starting to annoy me.

Time for a celebratory beer I feel.

play out of the throttle? your well nuts, 2mm or so is just right. I tested a gsxr750 K5 over in spain without play and someone will fall off that bike this year due to a highsider I can tell you ;)

a 600 is less forgiving, but no play is mental, you might as well ride with an on/off switch and leave the throttle stuck open :D :D

Took my brake callipers off and found that only 3 of the 8 pistons were working. Taken them to my mate to strip em down and sort. Thought the braking was odd last time i rode it!!! Got new front discs and pads to fit on friday.

Took my Yoshi R77 off....why....because the baffle screw fell inside when I was removing it. Damn! But at least I know I'm not the only one who has done this.

Well I finally got my butt in gear to get some overdue winter maintenance started and tonight I cleared the workbench in order to get everything ready for the front end upgrades that’s getting done on both my own bike and ColinBr's Blade for the soon approaching season, got the forks off mine already just need to actually find time (ear marked for the morra nite) to strip them down and swap the new parts over!

I am doing mine first to make sure I have taken all the tools required up with us when we tackle Colin’s bike over the weekend in his less equipped for the moment "Man Cave".
